Lieberman Forgot His Own Book

Looks like Joe Lieberman FORGOT what he wrote in HIS OWN BOOK titled:
"In Praise Of Public Life"

http://www.issues2000.org/...

Our CT family keeps getting Lieberman Mail that is very NEGATIVE about Ned Lamont's Wealth and things that Ned did back in the 1980's.

Wasn't it Lieberman who "hung from the rafters", as I like to say, for 25 minutes to chew out Cinton about Monica and he has yet to say a bad word about "Downing Street" Bush!

Yet Joe wrote in his book that politicians should NOT go after their opponent in any private matters, along with the opponents wealth or personnal details!!

Say What??

"On Government Reform: Using Opponent's Personal Details Is Wrong"
"Opposition research [on candidate's personal lives] does nothing but demean our politics and defame the people who are its targets. There is nothing wrong with going after your opponent's voting record or any other evidence of negligence in his public life, but digging into his bank account, his phone records, his sexual life, and literally his garbage when these things have nothing to do with the performance of his public duties-past, present, or future-is wrong."

And wasn't it "Rookie Lieberman" who went after a Three-Term Senator named Lowell Weicker in 1988?  Gee, according to Lieberman - after he became a Senator - people who have never held public office should never run against incumbents because they wouldn't govern well because they wouldn't know what to do.

Uh, like today's INCUMBANT-FILLED HOUSE and SENATE in DC are Tackling All Those Real Problems Confronting Us Today?  Yeah, Right!!!!

Again, check out pages 19-21 of Lieberman's book.
On Government Reform: Term limits result in weak government that governs poorly
The Founding Fathers felt that elected office holders should rotate in and out of public office after a limited period of time. But term limits, which were a feature of the Articles of Confederaion [in the 1780s], were not included in the Constitution because they didn't work. Term-limited, part-time lawmakers at the federal and state levels were either weak or absent. We would not want to have a Senate composed of 100 people who had never held public office before. It would not govern well.

I became a Ned Lamont supporter as soon as Ned entered the race.  Why?

With a relative in Iraq on his 3rd Deployment, I was still peaved at Rumsfeld for saying straight to a soldiers face that "You go to war with the equipment you HAVE, Not with the equipment you NEED!"  Not to mention the WMD LIES!!  Bush should have fired Rumsfeld on the spot and Lieberman should have been "hanging from the rafters", yelling even louder at the Bush Administration then he had at Clinton!!!

Instead, Joe has stayed quiet and supportive of Bush to this day!

I promptly shipped off an e-mail letter to Larson, Dodd and Lieberman's office about the equipment (or lack there of), and all I got back from Lieberman was a "form letter" pertaining to how good the IRAQ War was going and not a word about the equipment problem.

Do those people in DC ever read their mail?  I doubt it!!

I'm eagar to see Mr Lamont in person tomorrow in West Hartford and will help his campaign, from my wheelchair, in any way, shape or form to send Joe Lieberman packing!
